The Animal Science Journal, an official publication of the Animal Science Research Institute of Iran (ASRI), is an open access journal publishing original articles of research and review articles in the field of animal science in Persian (with English abstract). The journal plays a pivotal role in the dissemination of preeminent animal science-related knowledge across all fields in the country. The purpose of establishing this journal was to publish the results of researches and also basic and applied scientific experiences in various fields of animal science. The first issue of journal was published in the fall of 1988 with the name "Livestock Affairs Journal" in the Livestock and Aquatic Affairs Committee of the Ministry of Construction Jihad. From number 5 onwards, it was published under the name of "Agriculture and Livestock Journal". From number 12 onwards, the journal was published with the name of "Research and Construction" under the supervision of Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO). Currently, this quarterly journal entitled "Animal Science Journal" is printed and published in black and white with a scientific-research license from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology under the supervision of the Animal Science Research Institute of Iran.
