Abstract
This project aimed to determine the growth rate, feed conversion ratio, and quantitative and qualitative characteristics of meat produced in foreign breeds of Roman and Blanche using two diets: complete feed and conventional feed in fattening their lambs. In this study, 56 male lambs of approximately the same age (100 days) were used from each of the Blanche and Roman breeds in four groups of 14. A total of 28 lambs, including both breeds, were fed complete feed (Sibaym) and 28 from both breeds were fed conventional feed. The lambs were kept in the same places for 100 days and were fed two diets, including complete feed and conventional feed. The amount of feed consumed and daily weight gain of the lambs were measured during fattening, and after the end of the experiment, 3 lambs from each group were slaughtered and the weight of the warm carcass and carcass components, as well as the contents of the digestive tract, were determined. The results of this study showed that the average daily weight gain (285 grams for the Sibaym group and 283 grams for the common diet) and the average total weight gain in the complete feed group (15.4 kg) and in the common diet (15.1 kg) were almost the same. In terms of economic efficiency, the Sibaym diet has generated about 460 million rials more profit for the producer in a 100-head unit compared to the Farm diet.
